It is more than a legacy for the clients, Le Peep is one of those few places in town where the staff almost as regular as the clientele. ![]() One of the owners in the partnership, Brendon Murphy, started with the original Houston location in Rice Village as a manager in 1995 before moving to the Westheimer/610 store which, since opening it's doors has been the number one grossing Le Peep in the United States! (That location, indecently is the store DISH'S Memaw used to take us to for our special dates.) Turns out, Le Peep is actually a franchise based in Colorado and came to our beloved Houston in 1987. Le Peep is absolutely one of those for 3 generations of Houstonians. That special place your parent or grandparent would take you for your one on one time together. I really can’t fault Le Peep, but I wouldn’t have minded if a manager came over to suggest she cackle more softly.Most folks have that one restaurant that is a childhood memory for them. Often she was the only person at the table of 15 who thought literally everything was funny. I can deal with a little laughter, but one of that gang didn’t laugh, she cackled. ![]() My only “negative” was that we were seated next to a large group. The menu has soups, salads, sandwiches, burgers and Tex-Mex faves. Let’s just say I made it disappear.įYI, while I’ve always thought of Le Peep as a place for breakfast. The eggs were served on a skillet filled, and I do mean filled, with bacon, tomato & potato covered with cheddar cheese. With a crispy English muffin, just perfect for soaking up the yolk. Essentially a huge egg white with a runny yolk. Mostly, because I had no idea what a basted egg is. Lower fat ingredients without sacrificing taste. My wife ordered the Health Club Benedict. Our waitress was at our table in seconds to. We were seated promptly (on a Sunday morning), probably the result of all the competition. There are lots of new, trendy breakfast restaurants, so we haven’t been to Le Peep in several years.
